Moonstone is commonly known for balancing the emotions and Black Moonstone is like a womb-energy to help us feel safe when exploring uncomfortable feelings. It is a stone that can support transition towards a new beginnings and may be useful for developing self-awareness by working with it during meditation and journaling. Unlike some of the other moonstones, it can also be helpful for grounding.
As a Feldspar and Silicate, it forms in tetrahedra, containing 1 atom of silicon at its centre, and 4 atoms of oxygen. As Black Moonstone is a Monoclinic system in its formation, it brings emotional flow and intuitive integration. Monoclinic crystals are those that have the inner shape of a parallelogram. They are slightly asymmetric in structure which mirrors the human emotional landscape, helping us soften, feel, release and realign with our deeper truth.
